I find this really jarring. It equates those with depression with victimhood. It also trivialises depression. The idea that there is anything “simple” about suicide because of depression is really quite ignorant and harmful. Depression can be a product of all of the things you discuss in your article. It is complex. It is not “simply” a bad mood. For other people reading this article, I think it is important to call this out for what it is — entirely diminishing of the experience of depression.
